Course

  • How many water stops are throughout the course? Water is available at the bike/run transition and at 3 locations during the run portion of the race. We recommend bringing water to drink during the bike portion of the race.
  • How well is the course marked? The course is well marked with signs. We recommend reviewing the map found in our course description page or in your race packet before starting the event.
  • I am unfamiliar with the course, what should I do to prepare myself? If possible, we recommend taking a trial run of the course before race day. Please also review the race map found on our course description page.
  • May I bring a friend to cheer me on while I participate in Northern Columbia Triathlon? Absolutely! We highly recommend you bring your friends and family to cheer for you and each participant during the race and at the awards ceremony. Friends and family will also be able to bring you back to each transition should you need to pick up your belongings.
  • What happens if I get hurt? EMS will be available along the course in the event that a participant is injured. Please take note of the Waiver in which you acknowledge that you are participating at your own risk.
  • Will someone watch my bike at the Bike/Run Transition? Participants are responsible for their own property. We will have volunteers at the bike/run transition until the last biker comes in and for a short while after to pick things up. We recommend bringing a friend so they may pick up your bike and/or other belongings.

Donations

  • Where does all the money go? All of the money received from the participants and from private donations are donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Packet Pickup

  • When do I get my race packet? Packet pickup is reserved for two times. You can pick it up either the night before the race at First Niagara Bank, 2938 Route 9, Valatie, NY from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Or on the morning of the race at the Canaan Fire Department, 2126 State Route 295, Canaan, NY. For more information about when and where view our Schedule Page.

Sponsorship

Transportation

  • Will there be any transportation available on race day? The Northern Columbia Triathlon does not provide transportation on the day of the event. We recommend bringing a friend who can drop you off at Queechy Lake and will drive to Kinderhook Village Square to pick you up at the end of the race. If transportation is going to be an issue for you, please email us at: info@northerncolumbiatriathlon.com and we can try to provide an alternate solution.

Updates

  • How will I know if there is any changes or updates to the Northern Columbia Triathlon from now up to race day? This year we are offering an email subscription service to all of our participants and guests who would like to be kept up-to-date with Triathlon News. To subscribe to this new service, use the form located on the top right of every page. Enter your E-Mail address and press "Add".
